“It looks like you were misusing this feature by going too fast. You’ve been blocked from using it. Learn more about blocks in the Help Center.”

Do you get an error like the one above? We know it looks scary but it does NOT mean you’ve been blocked from using Pilot Poster.

UPDATE: The issue seems to be with HTC Sense, Authenticate iPhoto and Set it as your Default App to solve this Problem!

If you’ve been using iPhoto before now, simply re-authenticate and set as your default app.

Read to fix issues getting access token for iPhoto?

The error is a WARNING message from Facebook and NOT from Pilot Poster, and this warning doesn’t mean you can no longer post.

The cause?

  1. Facebook seems to be getting tougher day after day, so whenever you post to too many Facebook groups (Sometimes few), they throw you that warning. This warning also comes up when posting manually to Facebook groups.
  2. This could also be related to the app used for posting, that is why we recommend iPhoto app.

We set up this precaution to avoid you continuing to post, because you could actually get thrown into Facebook Jail for some days if you keep posting after the Warning.

The Solution

To solve this issue, we recommend the following;

  1. Pause all running posts and Wait for 1-3 Hours before you continue posting to Facebook Groups
  2. Switch the apps used for posting when you resume posting (recommended app is iPhoto).
  3. If possible, Change Image, URL and Text of your post when resuming posting
  4. Switch to other Facebook accounts while waiting.
  5. Read Our Safety Post Guide

Team Pilot Poster is working hard to reduce the Facebook jail issues for our issues, we’ll be implementing some major changes in the coming updates for a better posting experience.

We have written an article concerning How to Authenticate Apps for posting in a previous article. However, many are having the issues of getting access token when they click the ‘Get App Authenticate Link‘ button for some Apps. This article provides you an alternative method to get access tokens.

When you Goto Settings > Facebook Apps. Click on the Authenticate button of the App you want to authenticate. Click the Authenticate App button and follow the instructions as explained in this article.

app access token error

After completing the app permission stage, and you click the ‘Get the App Authenticate Link‘. If you get a blank page with a URL like this ‘data:text/html,<html><meta http-equiv=’refresh’ content=’0; url=view-source:https://gooas in the image above, that means you won’t be able to get the access token. Now follow the procedures below to get access token using the alternative method.

Alternative Method to Get Access Token (Source URL)

This method is as simple as the normal method, the only difference is that you need to work with speed this time around.

To get access token using the source URL method;

  1. From the Authentication pop up window, highlight and copy the App Source-URL (as shown in the picture below). Open another tab on your browser and paste the link.app source url
  2. When you enter the URL in another browser, you need to QUICKLY copy the link that shows up before it redirects (Link shown for just 1 Sec). Yes you have just ONE SECOND to copy the link.

    copy-access-token-linkIf you fail to copy the Link at first try, you can alway try again until you are able to copy

  3. Now paste the LINK in the access token field (as shown below) of the authentication field, and the second will be generated. Click  the Test Access Token to ensure your access token is valid. Then Click Set Access Token to complete the authentication process.

We hope you are able to fix your Facebook Access Token issue with this.

When you schedule a posts on Pilot Poster, in some rare cases, the scheduled posts might hit a hard rock on the way due to some reasons, and among the common reasons for a scheduled post to stop running is the ‘Invalid Access Token‘ error.

How to Detect this Error

Pilot Poster comes with a Logging feature that stores all of the errors encountered during a scheduled post. And to locate the error log, you need to Navigate to Posts > Scheduled Posts > And Click the Folder Icon at the right-hand side of the displayed table.

How to Fix Invalid Access Token Error
Fix Invalid Access Token Error

In the Log page, you will see the reason why your scheduled posts stopped running and if the error message seen is Invalid Access Token as shown in the image above, then read below to see how to fix;

How to Fix Invalid Access Token Error

The invalid access token error simply means the token for the selected app used for posting is expired and needs to be re-authenticated.

And to fix, all you need to do is Re-authenticate the current app used for posting.

To Re-authenticate, Goto Settings > Facebook Apps > Deauthenticate the App. And then click the Authenticate button again.

When you click the Authenticate button again, you do NOT need to go through all of the procedures as you would when Authenticating for the first time. Rather, all you need to click is the Get App Authenticate Link (As shown in the image below).

re-authenticate-app
re-authenticate-app

Copy the displayed access token from the next window that displays and then paste in the Access Token Box. Click the Test Access Token to ensure the copied token is valid, then click the Set Access Token Button.

You have successfully re-authenticate your app. Now is time for you to resume the paused schedule or schedule a new post using your authenticated app.

This is one of the common errors on Pilot Poster and it is an error that has to do with permissions. Posting to Facebook groups require some permissions set by the user posting and the Facebook group admin.

#200 Insufficient permission is caused by one of the following with solutions;

1. The group does not permit Members posting

If the group admin does not permit its group members to post to groups, sending a post with Pilot Poster to such group will pop up with #200 Insufficient permission error. There is nothing you can do to post to such group.

2. You did not set the right permission when authenticating your app.

If you fail to set the app permission to PUBLIC while authenticating, you will likely encounter #200 Insufficient permission error because the app does not have enough permission to post to the groups.

To Fix app permission from Facebook;

Goto https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications, search for the app you are posting with (e.g iPhoto), ensure the permission is set to PUBLIC.

3. Invalid token. Simply Authenticate other apps to fix.

The last scenario that could lead to you seen the #200 Insufficient permission error is when your app token is expired. When the app token expires, it means the app does not have the required permission to post to Facebook, therefore bring up that error.

To fix, all you need to do is re-authenticate the app used for posting.

There are two methods to authenticate apps, the first one is the traditional method and the second is for those who can’t successfully authenticate using the first method, you can find alternative method in this article.

UPDATE: The activation link not sending issue has been fixed by our server experts. Yahoo Mail and other email services should receive activation links without problems now. However, we’ll leave this page open for those who do not still receive activation links.

We have discovered that activation links no longer deliver to some YahooMail accounts while many go to the Junk folder of Yahoo mail. Our server engineers have been working to fix this issue

However, if you sign up with Yahoo mail and do not receive an activation link, we suggest you do the following;

  1. Check your inbox and SPAM to be sure that the activation mail was not received.
  2. Send your Username in an email to support@pilotposter.com requesting for account activation. Our team will activate your account manually. Note, the mail MUST be sent from the registered email account.
  3. Use another email service for Pilot Poster.

If you don’t use Yahoo mail and you do not receive an activation link, please follow the procedures above.

Issue Fixed: Facebook for Android and iPhone Apps now work fine.

If you have posted a Link using Pilot Poster and the OG Image does not display on the post published to Facebook.

We’ll like to let you know that this issue is caused by the update on Facebook’s API which has affected Facebook for Android and Facebook for iPhone Apps.

The Fix:

Kindly Authenticate HTC Sense and Set it as your default app. See guide here

This is a temporary fix while we work on a solution for the Facebook for Android and iPhone apps.

Recently, you might have noticed that when you publish images to Facebook fan pages, you encounter an error like the one below;

The action attempted has been deemed abusive or is otherwise disallowed Error Details: Warning: This Message Contains Blocked Content: Your message couldn’t be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive. Error Code: 368

There’s no need to panic when you come across this because it is due to an error in our API which we hope to rectify soon.

However, this can be easily fixed by simply using an external image source as explained in the Method 2, 3 and 4 of this article on how to add images to your post via Pilot Poster.

Note: You can upload images normally if you’re posting to just Facebook Groups and Profiles. This only affect the FAN PAGES.

Drop your comment below if you have any question regarding this article.
